PREFACE

The Publication Organization wishes to express its appreciation for the willingness with which the authors of these Outlines, the Rev. Prof. Dr. J. Faber of the Theological Seminary of the Canadian Reformed Churches at Hamilton, Ontario, the Rev. H. J. Meijerink of Aduard, the Rev. Prof. Dr. C. Trimp of the Theologische Hogeschool van De Gereformeerde Kerken in Nederland at Kampen, and the Rev. G. Zomer of Groningen, gave us permission to translate them from the Dutch.

Their work was originally published under the name of Tot Prijs Zijner Heerllikheid" by the "Bond van Gereformeerde Meisjesvereniging in Nederland", to which we are greatly indebted for its co-operation.

This authorized translation was produced by the Publication Committee of Launceston, Tasmania.

It is the intention of the Publication Organization to publish in the near future a more extensive work by the same authors on the same subject under the title of "An Inestimable Treasure of the Bride of Christ," which can be used by our study societies together with these Outlines but also read as a separate publication.

For those who attentively read these publications the significance of the Canons of Dort for our own days may really jump to the fore.

The text of the Canons has been taken from "Book of Praise," 2nd edition, 1965.
