Little Introduction One of the many rich gifts that Christian parents around the world enjoy is the privilege of praying for, and with their children, before tucking them in for the night. This is a small archive of many of the most popular ones. One contributor to this archive typifies how seriously both children, and parents, take this wonderful part of our daily devotions. "Once a neighbor girl baby sat our children. She had trouble getting our daughter to sleep she said, because she wanted to play. We found out later that she had been trying to tell the baby sitter that she had to pray, but the baby sitter thought she was saying play! We didn't ask her to baby sit for us again!" |

Australia If I have wounded any soul today, If I have caused one foot to go astray, If I have walk'd in my own willful way, Dear Lord, forgive, forgive. If I have uttered idle words or vain, If I have turned aside from want or pain, Lest I offend some other thro' the strain, Dear Lord, forgive, forgive. If I have been perverse, or hard, or cold, If I have long'd for shelter in the fold, When Thou hast given me some fort to hold, Dear Lord, forgive, forgive. Forgive the sins I have confessed to Thee, Forgive the secret sins I do not see, O guide me, love me, and my keeper be, Dear Lord, forgive, forgive. Amen, Amen. |

Australia Morning Prayer Sung on the old Dutch tune: "Klokje klinkt, vogel zingt". Lord, I pray, if today Some should wrong or trouble me, Make me kind, bring to mind I have been forgiv'n by Thee. Should there be joy for me Help me thank Thee as I should. Let me through all I do Praise Thee, Lord, for all things good. If this day, Lord, I stray Show my heart the road to take. Should I fear, be Thou near, Hear my pray'r for Jesus' sake. Lord, I pray, grant today To all children ev'rywhere, Should it be wise to Thee, What I ask Thee in this pray'r. Amen |
Sung to
The Tallis Canon . All praise to You, my God, this night, for all the blessings of the light. Keep me, O keep me, King of kings, beneath the shelter of Your wings. Forgive me, Lord, for this I pray, the wrong that I have done this day. May peace with God and neighbor be, before I sleep, restored to me. Lord, may I be at rest in You and sweetly sleep the whole night through. Refresh my strength, for Your own sake, that I may serve You when I wake. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above, you heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen |

(sung to the tune of "Ik ga slapen, ik ben moe") Eu me deito p'ra dormir; Peço a Deus a mim guardar: Pai, confio só em Ti, O Senhor, protege a mim. Amem. |
